We recognize the uncertainties.

In the balance of 2025, we are focusing our funding attention on partners to whom we distributed grants and alongside whom we have been learning about aspirations and needs in the three most recent years.  Thus, you are eligible to apply for funding from the Bissell Foundation if you received funds in one or two of these years:

2022, 2023, and 2024

The orange link below first invites you to establish a new grant portal for your organization.  This portal is the access point to the new Term II 2025 application form.  If our mention of the new portal and new form is unfamiliar to you, we urge you to read the paragraph above

so you may preseve your prior submissions and so you my freely copy and paste your responses from them.  We take this time to remind you that a longstanding policy of the Bissell Foundation precludes making a grant in a fourth [4th] consecutive year, which means that if you have received funding in each of 2022, 2023, and 2024, you are not eligible in 2025.  Please ask us if you are unsure.

Appreciating that the announcment may come as a disappointment to compelling agencies with acute needs, we offer the rationale we leaned into when making this decision.  In recent years, we have reached into urban neighborhoods and into communities who often live in isolation.  We invited leaders to introduce us to others less well known in philanthropic circles.  We have sought to forge genuine relationships and to lend other forms of capital.  Many of these agencies and their leaders budgeted in anticipation of second and third years of Bissell investments in 2025.

You may wish to be heard about leadership that is unseen, harms that are going unheeded, needs unmet, and communities targeted.  Please see that we see.  Your insights will help us refine the way we contribute locally in 2026 and beyond.  We have created a second form in our portal: one which invites you to teach us on one page about harms, needs, and aspirations that deserve philanthropic attention and care.  You may not be concerned how you represent yourself: we will be listening intently.  The system will ask you to associate your reflections with a non-profit agency.  Please ask us if you have any questions about this invitation.  The green link below provides you access and welcome.
